From culinary demonstrations and honey-harvesting displays to skin checks, vintage car exhibitions, and a pétanque area, the program combines discovery, tradition, and conviviality. Families will also enjoy dedicated spaces, including a children’s play area with a bouncy castle. Surprises and special moments await — celebrating the creativity, elegance, and shared spirit of the French art de vivre.

Bee demonstration

Discover the fascinating world of beekeeping through an engaging demonstration at the Embassy of France. Visitors will learn about traditional honey-harvesting techniques and enjoy a tasting of locally produced honey — an educational and sensory experience celebrating sustainability and the art of French craftsmanship.

Avène x Molemap

Since 2024, Avène and MoleMap have joined forces to promote awareness, prevention, and early detection in the fight against skin cancer. By combining MoleMap’s expertise in professional skin checks with Avène’s 30+ years of suncare innovation, this partnership creates a powerful alliance dedicated to healthy, protected skin. As part of this collaboration, 40 free skin checks will be offered at the French Embassy.

Chaîne de rôtisserie

An international association devoted to the promotion of gastronomy and the preservation of culinary traditions, La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs unites professionals and enthusiasts who share a passion for excellence in the culinary arts. During the event, the association will take part in a special gastronomic animation — with a few delightful surprises awaiting visitors.

French-Australian Preschool

The French-Australian Preschool will take part in the event with a dedicated activity for children, offering a fun and engaging introduction to French language and culture through play and creativity, including a traditional pêche aux canards (duck fishing game).

Jumping Castle

A dedicated play area will be available for families, featuring a jumping castle where children can play safely and enjoy a moment of fun and excitement. A joyful space designed to add a touch of festivity to the event’s family-friendly atmosphere.

La Schmolle

La Schmolle is a soft pétanque ball designed to be played indoors or outdoors, on all types
of surfaces and in all weather conditions.
Manufactured in France, in the Ain region, it combines innovation, conviviality, and local
craftsmanship. Its unique composition ( a flexible plastic shell with an internal core of steel beads ) ensures safe play without damaging floors or surroundings, while preserving the authentic feel of a traditional pétanque game. Suitable for all ages, La Schmolle appeals to families and businesses alike, offering both a fun leisure activity and an original, sustainable gift idea. Canberra Games Society

The Canberra Games Society (CGS) was formed in 1974 with the stated aim of promoting gaming within the CGS and the wider community, including role-playing, wargaming, board gaming, and collectable card games (CCGs).

Canberra Plein Air

Capital Plein Air is Canberra’s annual outdoor painting festival, bringing together artists from across Australia to celebrate the beauty of painting on location. Our local painters regularly meet for social paint-outs around the region, capturing Canberra’s landscapes, architecture and cultural spaces. We’re delighted to join the Sounds of Summer festival, where our artists will be painting live in the Embassy grounds from 12:30pm. 

French Car Club

French Car Club will showcase a selection of classic and vintage vehicles, offering visitors a glimpse into France’s automotive heritage. Guests can admire these iconic cars up close, celebrating craftsmanship, design, and the enduring elegance of French motoring culture.

Hosking Bikes

Hosking Bikes is an Australian-owned bike brand founded by Olympian and former professional cyclist Chloe Hosking. After a thirteen-year career representing Australia at the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and World Championships, including winning La Course by Le Tour de France in 2016, Chloe created a brand shaped by her lived experience in the sport. Hosking Bikes focuses on breaking down barriers to entry by designing high-quality, thoughtfully engineered bikes at accessible price points. The brand is proudly female-founded and committed to increasing opportunity, visibility and representation for women in the cycling industry, while helping more people feel confident getting on a bike.

Presentation of the Order of Agricultural Merit medal to Clément Chauvin

Born in Paris in 1983, Clément discovered his love for food in Lyon and trained in hospitality in Thonon-Les-Bains. He began his career at PIC, a 3-star Michelin restaurant, and honed his skills at Le Caro de Lyon and Nicolas Lebec (2-star Michelin). At 22, he moved to London, joining Gordon Ramsay’s Claridge’s and quickly rising to Chef de Partie.

Clément later moved to Sydney, taking his first head chef role at Bistro Paris. After starting a family, he relocated to Canberra, where he won Best Chef of the Year and led restaurants to multiple awards, including his own multi-award-winning Les Bistronomes. He now also runs Montrachet in Brisbane, earning recognition for Best French, Best Premium Dining, and Restaurant of the Year for both venues.

In addition to his restaurants, Clément has published a cookbook, Bistronomie, sharing his passion and culinary expertise.
